Insor vs Practo

Practo and Insor sit at opposite ends of the same patient journey. Practo is a discovery platform: it helps patients who do not yet know you find you and book. Insor works after the visit, on patients already in your records, so they come back. They are not alternatives to each other.

Acquisition and retention are not substitutes

A clinic with no inbound has an acquisition problem, and a discovery platform is a reasonable answer to it. A clinic with steady inbound whose patients do not come back has a retention problem, and no amount of new listings fixes that. Adding more patients to the top of a leaking funnel widens the leak.

Most practices eventually have both problems, at different stages. Treating them as the same problem is why clinics keep buying acquisition and keep wondering why revenue is flat.

A reminder is not a follow-up

Practice management software, Practo's included, sends appointment reminders. Almost all of it does, and clinics reasonably assume that covers patient communication.

A reminder goes out before an appointment that already exists. It reduces no-shows and changes nothing about whether that visit was going to happen. A follow-up goes out after the visit, when nothing is booked, and asks how the patient is doing. A recall goes out when the next visit becomes due.

The second and third are the ones that create visits that would not otherwise exist, and they are the ones nobody runs. This distinction is the entire difference between the two categories.

The doctors a discovery platform helps least

A discovery platform is most valuable to a practice that patients cannot otherwise find. That is a real and common situation, particularly for a new clinic.

It is worth least to the doctor whose own name already generates the demand. Some well-established practices leave such platforms for exactly that reason, once the inbound arrives regardless. Those practices still have the retention problem, and often a larger one, because a long-established practice has a longer back catalogue of patients nobody has contacted since their last visit.

Running both

Nothing about Insor requires leaving anything. It runs on the clinic's existing phone number and books into whatever system the practice already uses, including a practice management system it has no intention of changing.

A clinic can list on a discovery platform to be found, and run Insor so the patients it finds come back. That is the ordinary case, not an edge case.

Questions doctors ask

Is Insor an alternative to Practo?
No. Practo helps patients who do not know your clinic find it and book. Insor works on patients already in your records so they return. A clinic can sensibly run both, and many will, because being found and being returned to are different problems with different solutions.
Do I have to leave my current practice management software?
No. Insor layers on top of whatever the clinic already runs and books into it. Nothing is migrated, no records move, and the front desk keeps working exactly as it does now. It runs on the clinic's existing phone number rather than a new one.
My software already sends appointment reminders. Is that not the same thing?
A reminder goes out before a booked appointment to reduce no-shows. It does not create a visit. Insor works after the visit, when nothing is booked, and when the next one becomes clinically due. Those are the contacts that produce appointments that would not otherwise have existed.
We are not listed on any platform. Does Insor still work?
Yes, and often better. Insor works from the patients a clinic has already treated rather than from a public listing, so it does not depend on being discoverable anywhere. A practice that has run for years without listings usually has the largest uncontacted patient base of all.
